5 Must-See Visuals from the Alien Deathstorm Trailer

The future of action horror just got a devastating glow-up. Rebellion has dropped a fresh trailer for their upcoming title, Alien Deathstorm, and it’s clear this isn’t just another shooter—it’s a desperate fight for survival on a dying world. The visuals alone promise a chaotic, explosive experience that has fans eagerly anticipating.

The game throws players into the role of an Engineer, sent to a distant, off-world colony that has been cut off from Earth. What starts as a rescue mission quickly spirals into a fight for existence as the planet itself is being torn apart by a catastrophic event. Things are far worse than anyone expected.

The visual spectacle centers on the mega-storm, an apocalyptic force that dominates the landscape. This storm isn’t just background noise; it is an escalating, ever-present danger that actively tears the planet apart, forcing players to navigate wreckage just to stay alive.

Beyond the environmental threat, the colony is overrun by extraterrestrial life. While the storm presents a physical menace, the alien presence introduces a psychological horror. These are not benign foes; they are intelligent, deadly creatures that hunt in packs and use the environment to their advantage, turning every shadow into a potential threat.

One of the core missions thrusts players deep into the heart of the disaster: the Reactor. Inside the malfunctioning fission core, players must fight their way through dangerous substations and flare stacks to repair the facility and restore power. This is where the survival instinct really kicks in, demanding tactical combat amidst exposed terrain and deadly ambushes.

Rebellion is taking a unique approach to mission design. Instead of rigid objectives, the game leverages a digital assistant, Squire, whose readouts guide the Engineer. Players must diagnose the situation and piece together their own solutions, allowing them to dictate their own pace—creating a brilliant tension as the alien threat relentlessly hunts them down.

The combat itself is brutal and grounded. Players are not super-soldiers; they are Engineers with basic combat training. The arsenal includes familiar firearms like pistols, SMGs, and shotguns, complemented by tools for survival, such as a Geiger Scanner, grenades, and flares. Crucially, players can find blueprints for weapon upgrades—optics, barrels, and more—that can be 3D printed and added to their gear, adding a layer of satisfying progression.

The alien threat comes in various forms, including Soldiers, Scuttlers, Blister Scuttlers, and Scuttler Swarms, each presenting unique challenges that require different strategies. The player can wield their trusty hammer, not just for repairs, but as a surprisingly effective melee weapon against flying Scuttlers.

Set to launch in Spring 2027, Alien Deathstorm will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be available on Game Pass from day one. With the promise of bombastic gameplay, dynamic alien encounters, and high-stakes survival mechanics, this title is already positioned to be one of the most intense action horror experiences of the year.
