Arc Raiders Battle Pass: Pay For The Loot

When Arc Raiders launches its next major update, Frozen Trail, on October 8, players are set to experience significant changes and exciting new content. While the update itself will be free, it introduces a revamped Reward Pass system that introduces a premium track for those looking for extra rewards.

This new system replaces the previous daily quest reward structure, streamlining how players earn in-game items and cosmetics. The core philosophy behind the change is ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Players will naturally receive the Free Pass for free, but the Premium Pass offers access to exclusive rewards at a cost of 1,150 Raider Tokens, roughly equivalent to $10 USD. Importantly, Embark is ensuring that this premium access remains focused purely on cosmetics. Gameplay-altering items, such as new weapons and gear, will be available exclusively through the Free Pass, successfully avoiding any semblance of a pay-to-win scenario.

The system is designed to reward dedication without compromising competitive integrity. In a clever move, purchasing the Premium Pass allows players to earn back more than they spend; completing the pass yields 1,350 Raider Tokens, including 200 tokens found within the Free Pass. This player-friendly exchange rate highlights the commitment to rewarding time spent in the game.

Beyond the streamlined rewards, Frozen Trail throws players into a brand-new environment with the frosty Pendola Pass map, pushing raiders into unexplored territory and introducing formidable new Arc threats: the Bully, the Skulker, and the Hydra.

The gameplay mechanics are also undergoing an evolution. Players will engage in intense combat and puzzles aboard the new Frigate, a new airborne carrier designed to test teamwork and strategy. New weapon amplification mechanics will allow players to redefine loadouts, while stencils will offer fresh cosmetic changes to guns. Furthermore, the update introduces delightful new tools like banjo and harmonica instruments, a camera, and a grappling hook, promising a rich new community favorite.

The update also dramatically expands the world, adding new customizable Outposts—new areas where raiders can establish their own base. Skill trees are also being overhauled to introduce new abilities and refine existing skills, adding layers of depth to progression.

Despite the excitement, the development team is navigating the complexities of a major shift. While they are thrilled to share the content they have been working on since May, they admit that the scale of the update brings back some familiar nerves. They feel the experience is akin to “shipping the game again,” which naturally brings a mix of emotions.

Embark continues to work on the future of Arc Raiders, with plans for major updates approximately every six months. While the release date for the next major patch remains unannounced, the team is actively considering future features, such as allowing players to invite friends into their Outposts—a clear sign of where they see the community heading next.
