Arknights Endfield on PS5 Pro with PSSR 1.4
Prepare to redefine your experience in Arknights: Endfield. With the arrival of Version 1.4, players on PlayStation 5 Pro are set to witness a dramatic visual and content overhaul, promising an even deeper dive into the world of Talos-II.
At the heart of this enhancement is the integration of upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This powerful technological upgrade doesn’t just boost resolution; it fundamentally transforms how you perceive the expansive sci-fi landscape of Endfield. The result is a game that looks sharper, feels smoother, and delivers unparalleled visual consistency.
One of the most immediate gains players will notice is the incredible detail in character design. Outfits and material textures are rendered with remarkable clarity, allowing fine costume details and layered surfaces to retain definition. Whether you are observing a complex combat scenario or simply exploring a new vista, the distinctive designs of the characters truly leap off the screen.
The upgrade extends beyond characters; it brings life to the environment itself. Lush vegetation, sprawling industrial facilities, and the wildlife inhabiting Endfield’s diverse maps now maintain stable, crisp detail. Exploration becomes even more immersive as the world’s natural and manufactured environments offer stunning clarity.
For action-packed gameplay, PSSR ensures visual integrity even during fast movement. The system effectively preserves image clarity while reducing instability, helping to maintain higher frame rates at 4K resolution. This means combat remains fluid, smooth, and visually stunning, balancing high visual quality with responsive performance across the board.
This technical polish is backed by the development team, who noted the ease of implementation. As the CTO of Hypergryph mentioned, “Integrating upgraded PSSR required very little engineering effort, while improving image clarity and temporal stability across a wide range of gameplay scenarios. It allows us to present the world of Arknights: Endfield with greater visual consistency, preserving the smooth exploration and combat experience while bringing the rich details of Talos-II to life.”
But the visual feast is only part of the celebration. Version 1.4, titled Companionship Celebration: Homecoming, is a monumental content update that redefines the game’s narrative and gameplay depth.
The story continues with Chapter 3: Acts 1 & 2, pushing the Wuling storyline to its dramatic conclusion. Players will venture into two brand-new regions—Yinglung Pass and the North Wuling Exclusion Zone—each packed with unique environmental mechanics that culminate in an epic confrontation against a formidable new boss, Alleikhreos.
The roster is significantly expanded with exciting new additions. Meet Arcane, a Nature Caster specializing in Corrosion and crowd control, who will strengthen nature-based team compositions with powerful battlefield control. Joining her is Liino, an Electric Supporter with healing and amplification abilities and an undeniably distinctive idol-inspired style, ready to bring essential team support.
Gameplay options have also been radically expanded. Players can engage with Echoes of War, a permanent seasonal challenge mode rewarding skillful play with exclusive titles. Adventurers can explore The Rooted Realm, a brand-new roguelike mode featuring progressively unlocked stages and unique rewards. Furthermore, the opportunity for cooperative fun is enhanced with Heat Rage! Mega Arena!, a limited-time co-op challenge where only two operators deploy.
Beyond narrative and combat, the factory has been upgraded with a new Gas production chain. New progression systems, including Story Skip for newcomers, Birthday rewards, Talosite collectibles, and an upgraded Photo Mode with adjustable poses, offer endless ways to engage with the game world. To top it off, the Half Anniversary is celebrated with generous in-game rewards, including a free 6★ weapon and recruitment permits.
Arknights: Endfield Version 1.4 launches on July 16th, bringing together stunning visual fidelity and massive new content to usher in an exciting new chapter for all players.
