Batman and More Stars Join the Far Cry TV Series
The future of the Far Cry franchise is getting a serious dose of Hollywood talent, as the FX television series prepares to unleash a truly stacked cast. New additions are joining the fold, bringing a unique blend of cinematic experience and on-screen chemistry to the series.
Joining Rob Mac, who is already serving as a co-showrunner alongside Noah Hawley, are Lizzy Caplan and Steve Buscemi. But the excitement doesn’t stop there; the anthology series is also welcoming a roster of established and emerging stars, including Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Jamie Demetriou, and Sam Spruell.
This is an ensemble cast with undeniable gravitas. Leigh has garnered acclaim for powerful performances in films like Hateful Eight and Fargo, while Spruell brings a proven intensity from roles in productions like Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The show aims to introduce entirely new settings and characters in each season, meaning viewers should enter the world of Far Cry with fresh eyes, rather than getting completely attached to the actors in the initial episodes.
While the television project is gaining momentum, the broader Ubisoft property is continuing its expansion under the banner of Creative House 1 AKA Vantage Studios. This studio is focused on scaling and extending major franchises, including Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six.
In fact, the groundwork is being laid for the next evolution of the series, with Ubisoft reportedly developing Far Cry 7. This ambitious development is taking place under the guidance of Vantage Studios. Furthermore, the studio benefits from significant investment, as the Chinese multinational technology and entertainment conglomerate Tencent holds a substantial stake in Vantage Studios, having invested $1 billion. This partnership signals a major push to expand the reach and scope of the Ubisoft universe across different media.
