Big Walk devs support boycott, co-op puzzler avoids Xbox

When it comes to protesting corporate policies, some developers choose to let their actions speak louder than their release schedules. House House, the creative minds behind the breezy co-op puzzle adventure Big Walk and the avian mischief sim Untitled Goose Game, recently stepped into the spotlight by expressing support for the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s ongoing Microsoft boycott.

Their decision wasn’t merely a passive acknowledgment; it was a deliberate act of protest rooted in their concerns over corporate affiliations. In a recent post, the duo shared their observation of the boycott, noting that they called in 2025 in protest of Microsoft’s business ties with the Israeli military.

This observation led to a significant consequence for their upcoming projects. As a result of their stance, the team chose to forgo an Xbox console release for their games.

While Big Walk and their other titles were still available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2, the developers opted to pause the Xbox launch.

This choice highlights a growing trend where creators are using their platform presence to draw attention to wider social and political issues, demonstrating that even in the highly commercial world of gaming, developers are taking a stand.
