Charlie Cox confirmed for secret Sega game NYCC 2026
When a star like Charlie Cox steps into the world of video games, the casting process can be as wild as the gameplay itself. Recently, the Daredevil icon confirmed he has been busy adding his unique voice to an unannounced title from Sega, proving that Cox’s vocal talents are as versatile as his iconic roles.
At New York Comic-Con 2026, Cox opened up about the project, revealing that he had completed recording for a Sega game that is yet to be officially named. He shared a candid look at the intense experience, noting, “I did another one! It doesn’t have a name yet,” before admitting the process was challenging. He described the experience as a “whole different job,” involving forty hours of recording lines.
The real gold, however, was the humorous behind-the-scenes story he shared about the production crew. Cox recounted that when he first met the team, they were completely unaware that he was not American. The team had clearly hoped he would fit a certain mold, but now he had to deliver forty hours of lines with an English accent, resulting in some wonderfully awkward moments. He quipped that they thought he was American, which only added another layer of delightful unpredictability to the experience.
This anecdote provides a fascinating glimpse into the rigorous demands of voice acting and the unique dynamic of bringing a global talent into a production. It suggests that Cox’s role in this mysterious game is likely central to the plot, given the sheer volume of dialogue he recorded.
Cox has already demonstrated his vocal prowess in other gaming endeavors, most notably his work on Expedition 33, where he famously recorded all his lines in just four hours. Players praised his performance, earning him a nomination for Best Performance at the Game Awards in 2025.
Sega’s catalog of upcoming releases is already packed with high-profile titles, including Stranger Than Heaven, Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Persona 6, and Alien: Isolation 2, among others. While the specific Sega project remains a mystery, it adds another layer of intrigue to the exciting world of gaming.
Meanwhile, fans of the Daredevil universe can look forward to further developments in the series. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is slated for release in early 2027, promising more adventures for Matt Murdock. The anticipation is palpable as the franchise continues to evolve.
