Charlie Cox fights for more Daredevil movies
The curtain is set to fall on Daredevil: Born Again, and while this marks the conclusion of three seasons on Disney Plus, the story for Matt Murdock is far from over. Filming for the third season was completed with a palpable sense that it marked the end of an era, raising the question: what comes next for the man who navigates the dark streets of Hell’s Kitchen?
The big question hanging over the franchise isn’t just about the show’s conclusion, but about Daredevil’s potential role within the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked about the possibility of seeing Matt Murdock in an upcoming MCU movie, actor Charlie Cox offered a glimmer of hope, stating, “We’ll see.”
This hopeful response adds a layer of intrigue to the already compelling narrative. It suggests that the ending of the Netflix series might not be a definitive stop, but rather a doorway into larger, more expansive storytelling. Cox, who made his mark during the brief, yet iconic, appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer, has long been intertwined with the MCU, making any potential crossover deeply exciting for fans.
The history of Matt Murdock’s MCU involvement is unique. His brief appearance set the stage, solidifying the Netflix series as canon, even if his full potential remains unexplored in the main cinematic universe. Now, as the series wraps, the focus shifts to the future, suggesting that the story of Daredevil may just be evolving beyond the confines of the streaming platform.
Even amidst the necessary conclusion of the series, the spirit of the community remains alive. Charlie Cox humorously framed the cancellation as a reflection of the widespread #SaveDaredevil campaign, underscoring the deep connection fans have with the character. As the production team moves toward release, the expectation is that this closure will serve as a launchpad, paving the way for Murdock to step into yet unwritten cinematic adventures.
