Darkhold Destiny Bundles Visual Review
The wait is officially on, but the hype is already building: the long-awaited Magic: The Gathering and Marvel crossover is just around the corner, and the preorders for the Darkhold Destiny Commander decks are already open for business.
Fans of the game can secure bundles containing four distinct decks right now. Whether you choose the standard package or the premium Collector’s Edition, you are diving headfirst into a world of Marvel mythology, ready to command your own destiny at the table.
The standard bundle, offering four ready-to-play decks, is available for $299.96 on Amazon. For those who want the ultimate collectible experience, the Collector’s Edition is priced at $639.96. Both options are slated to launch on April 9, 2027.
To put the options into perspective, the standard bundle offers each deck for approximately $74.99, while the Collector’s Edition brings the price down to $159.99 per deck. This is certainly a significant investment, demanding careful consideration from any trading card enthusiast.
What exactly awaits within these bundles? Regardless of the price tag, each set includes four fantastic decks: Strange Academy, Gods of Asgard, Midnight Sons, and Lords of Hel. Each deck is fully prepared, featuring 100 cards, thirty new-to-Magic Commander cards, ten double-sided tokens, a deck box, and a helpful strategy guide.
The difference between the two versions lies in the finish: the standard bundle includes two Traditional Foil legendary creatures per deck, while the Collector’s Edition upgrades all 100 cards with Surge Foil treatments.
Looking at the potential gameplay, the designs are already sparking imagination. For example, Strange Academy features Doctor Strange leading a white-blue-black blink deck focused on powerful effects, while Lords of Hel pits Hela against a red-black token sacrifice strategy. Even the Midnight Sons deck leans into Vampires and life-spending mechanics.
The appeal lies in the variety. These four themed decks offer a wealth of thematic content, making the decision easy. Furthermore, this expansion holds a special place, as it marks the first Universes Beyond set built around an original story shared between Marvel and Wizards of the Coast.
While we await the full decklists to determine the exact meta performance, the foundation is solid. If you are eager to dive into the Marvel universe of Magic, preordering the standard $299.96 bundle is a safe bet. The Collector’s Editions can wait until the actual game mechanics are fully revealed.
