The world of gacha games, often a playground for wholesome, fantastical fun, has recently taken an unexpected turn, shifting from cute aesthetics to a decidedly hazardous reality. The community surrounding the game Love and Deepspace has already navigated some choppy waters following past controversies, but the developer Papergames seems to have brewed up a fresh pot of trouble.

The recent friction stems from a developer’s decision to share cocktail recipes online. What began as a whimsical endeavor quickly turned into a public safety concern when followers discovered that the ingredients used to create these drinks were inspired by items found within the game, specifically in-game slimes like Artsyblobbu, Fiendyblobbu, Pilotblobbu, Snowyblobbu, and Stellablobbu.

The original post, promising a “Special Blend,” included recipes for non-alcoholic mixes. However, the list of ingredients contained substances that posed significant health risks. Online observers quickly pointed out that some of these cocktail components included hallucinogens like Datura and other toxic elements such as colchicine, ingredients that should absolutely not be consumed.

This revelation sparked immediate alarm among the fanbase. The initial excitement of sharing cute, wholesome content quickly collided with a very serious warning about lethal concoctions. This situation added further complexity to the already turbulent narrative surrounding the game.

In response to the backlash, Papergames issued a follow-up statement, clarifying the situation. The developer stressed that the drink recipes posted were entirely “fictional” and were intended solely for “in-game purposes.” Despite this clarification, the immediate concern about the toxic ingredients remains a stark reminder that the line between digital fantasy and real-world safety needs constant vigilance.

Meanwhile, the online reaction did not stop there. The thread quickly devolved into another layer of drama as players began hijacking the conversation, demanding that the game address other long-standing issues, such as the inclusion of the character Valko. This shift highlighted how quickly digital community excitement can spiral into broader, more serious demands.

It serves as a sharp reminder that whenever developers interact with their communities, even through lighthearted content, the consequences—both in terms of fan engagement and public safety—must be carefully considered.
