Double XP in MW4 Beta Extended to Grind for Rewards
The wait for the next chapter in the Call of Duty universe just got a little longer, but for the dedicated players, this extension comes with some serious perks. Activision has announced an extension to the open beta for Modern Warfare 4, giving everyone more time to tackle the intense challenges and reap the rewards.
The beta, which was scheduled to conclude on September 1st, has been pushed back to September 2nd at 10 PM PT / 1 AM ET. This extra twelve hours is more than just a minor adjustment; Activision is sweetening the deal by doubling the rewards players earn during this extended period. Specifically, players will receive double progression XP and double weapon XP until the beta officially wraps up.
This is a massive boon for those who love the grind. With the extended window, players have more opportunities to climb the ranks and unlock coveted items. Those aiming for the top tier, who reach the level cap of 30, can still pursue the special weapon blueprint. Now, instead of rushing to claim it immediately, players have an extra 12 hours—a chance to squeeze in that elusive progress while juggling work, school, and life.
Once the beta concludes, the focus shifts to launch. Multiplayer access for Modern Warfare 4 will be available on October 23rd. Meanwhile, the single-player campaign is being rolled out even earlier, offering players who preorder a week-long head start before the multiplayer action begins.
The game is set to arrive across a wide array of platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and for the first time since 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts, a port will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Furthermore, the development team has made some significant architectural shifts. Modern Warfare 4 is skipping the last-generation consoles entirely for the first time in its history, marking a notable move in the game’s development strategy. This latest entry also brings the franchise to a new console ecosystem, promising a fresh experience for fans of the series.
With the launch approaching, Modern Warfare 4 is positioned to hit the market just 34 days before the highly anticipated release of GTA 6, setting the stage for some truly massive gaming moments later this year.
