Elden Ring is my favorite game I hardly play
The journey into the Lands Between is vast, and navigating it often requires a firm grip on the reins. For one player, mastering that wild expanse of territory felt less like a daunting task and more like an epic pilgrimage. This is the story of a dedication to the world of Elden Ring, a journey that pushed the boundaries of time and perseverance.
This player hasn’t just played the game; they have revisited it. Having started four separate save files, they dedicated significant time—a minimum of fifteen to twenty hours on each attempt—to exploring the intricate world of Elden Ring. Each playthrough offered a unique perspective on the beauty and brutality of the Lands Between, earning the player’s absolute adoration.
Yet, despite the cumulative effort of over sixty hours spent delving into the lore and the often-challenging spaces, the most remarkable achievement came on the latest attempt. For the first time, the player managed to successfully push through the initial ‘tutorial area’.
It might sound like an astonishing feat to anyone unfamiliar with the game: three save files and over sixty hours dedicated to the tutorial. But when viewed in the grand scheme of epic fantasy, such dedication is simply part of the experience.
For those who have yet to venture into the Lands Between, the initial exploration can seem overwhelming. However, the rewarding nature of the adventure reveals that even the most daunting starting points can become foundational memories.
Ultimately, the experience is less about reaching a specific destination and more about the sheer enjoyment of the exploration itself. The commitment pays off, proving that sometimes, the greatest adventures are the ones you take with you, regardless of how much time it takes to find your footing.
