Exodus creator lets you pick a beard despite face sliders

When you dive into a massive sci-fi RPG like Exodus, you expect deep customization. You anticipate spending hours meticulously fine-tuning every subtle feature of your chosen protagonist, ensuring the chin is perfectly proportioned and the eyes sit just right.

Unfortunately, developers Archetype Entertainment have introduced a surprising twist to the character creation process. Forget the ten million sliders that once let players manipulate cheek yaw and ear curvitude; it seems the focus has shifted from minute facial detail to striking definition.

Instead of offering the sprawling freedom of slider-based face sculpting, the team has decided to set the majority of the protagonist, Jun Aslan’s face, firmly in stone. The goal? To give him a more defined and memorable presence.

While the ability to play with nose and brow sliders is officially off the table—no chicanery allowed for establishing that iconic look—the creative freedom hasn’t vanished entirely.

Players can still layer on personality by choosing hair styles and adding tattoos. It’s a shift from detailed facial architecture to embracing the narrative power of cosmetic choices, letting you focus your artistic energy elsewhere in the customization menu.
