When you try your absolute best, but the outcome isn’t what you hoped for, it can be frustrating. But when it comes to gaming, there are some true treasures that simply defy expectation.
For me, the frustration isn’t over a single missed goal; it’s the wistful ache of a fan longing for more. I have never shied away from the rich tapestry of the Professor Layton series. The adventures offered by this franchise have always captivated me, offering puzzles, charming characters, and a unique blend of intellectual fun and adventure.
While I cherish the legacy of the original and prequel trilogies, those masterpieces take a special place on my shelf. Yet, as I look back, I feel a distinct, top-hat-shaped hole in my heart—a longing for another mainline installment.
This feeling intensified as the franchise continued its journey. The release of Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy – Deluxe Edition on the Switch brought a wonderful new chapter, but it only amplified the desire for more stories to unfold.
It’s a testament to the brilliance of the series that despite the availability of these wonderful adventures, the desire for the next grand quest remains strong.
