The world of espionage just got a serious upgrade. Developer IO Interactive has dropped a massive, free update for the critically acclaimed James Bond game, 007 First Light, bringing players extended operations, new weaponry, exclusive fashion, and high-stakes challenges to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

This isn’t just a simple patch; it’s a deep dive into Bond’s world, packed with content designed to thrill fans. At the heart of the update is the new operation, Valhalla Protocol, which throws Bond into a high-speed chase that feels anything but boring. Players will command the iconic Aston Martin Valhalla in a race against the clock across Slovakia, where skill and firepower are just as important as speed, offering four distinct tracks to master.

Forget leisurely cruising; this is where Bond unleashes his arsenal. When the pedal is pushed to the floor, the game’s weapons and missile launchers come into play, ensuring that the race is less about formula and more about pure, adrenaline-fueled mayhem.

Beyond the blistering action, the game offers stunning ways to capture the cinematic moments. The new photo mode allows players to become the directors, letting them experiment with unique filters, custom light setups, and exclusive poses to immortalize their Bond encounters. Whether capturing a classic silhouette or a dramatic explosion, the possibilities for visual storytelling are endless.

Adventure also calls for daring infiltration with the new mission, Jungle Heist. Bond will have to navigate dense jungle villas, decipher secret codes, secure hidden contents, and fight his way to extraction—a mission that promises stealth, strategy, and explosive action in equal measure.

To further enhance the experience, the arsenal is expanded with two brand-new firearms: the Squire Marksman rifle and the Storm 12 shotgun, giving players fresh tools for their missions.

And because style is half the operation, the wardrobe has been completely revamped. Players can now dress Bond in a fresh collection of Q Division threads, including the casual Leisure Beam outfit, the posh First Class tuxedo, and the sleek Observant Spy ensemble, allowing for endless customization.

For those who have mastered the campaign, the addition of New Game+ invites a fresh replay. Players can revisit the entire 007 First Light story, pick up unlocked outfits, and test their skills against the ultimate challenge: the 00 difficulty mode. This mode strips away resources and makes the enemies deadly, ensuring that only the most skilled Bond agents survive.

IO Interactive has clearly built something that resonates, having already achieved an impressive milestone of 4 million units sold across PC and consoles as of August 2026. With the game’s success still fueling speculation about a sequel, developments are ongoing. While the Switch 2 edition is currently on hold, IO Interactive continues to work behind the scenes, confident that the next chapter in Bond’s story is just around the corner.
