First look at Prism transparent PS5 accessories
Get ready to redefine your gaming setup. PlayStation is rolling out the Prism Collection, a stunning new line of transparent accessories for the PS5 console and DualSense wireless controllers. This collection is not just about aesthetics; it’s an invitation to see the craftsmanship and technology behind the hardware in a whole new light.
Inspired by a desire to give players an unprecedented, crystal-clear view of the PS5 and DualSense, the Prism Collection features three striking, glossy transparent designs: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. Each color is finished with a premium sheen, elevating the entire look to a sleek and highly modern standard.
The design philosophy behind the Prism Collection speaks to a fresh take on gaming hardware. As design team members Leo Cardoso and Satoshi Aoyagi explained, the goal was to bring back the iconic see-through trend of the late nineties in a modern context that complements the PS5’s industrial design.
Satoshi Aoyagi details the meticulous process: “The high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, offering a look at the technology that powers the DualSense controller while maintaining a sleek, monochromatic look.” He further notes that the metallic finish on the middle cover brings contrasting surfaces together for a premium appearance consistent with the PS5 generation.
The color palette was chosen to maximize visual impact. They selected a vibrant orange that subtly takes on a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps, a deep hunter green that gains depth through its transparency, and a cool-toned storm gray.
The Prism Collection is available in multiple formats. The DualSense wireless controllers will have a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD. The matching PS5 console covers are available for $74.99 USD. These accessories can be purchased directly from PlayStation or through select retailers.
Mark your calendars for the launch. The Prism Collection officially launches on February 4, 2027. Pre-orders will open on November 10, 2026, at 10am local time directly from PlayStation and participating retailers. Availability and exact launch dates may vary by region.
