The video game adaptation of Games Workshop’s Warhammer fantasy football tabletop classic, Warhammer Blood Bowl, is officially slated for release this fall across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

This ambitious project is being brought to life by Slitherine, the publisher who secured the licensing and back catalog rights from Nacon. Slitherine is pairing this iconic franchise with the talented team at Cyanide, ensuring that the new title builds on the solid foundations of its predecessor.

The development philosophy is clear: turn Blood Bowl into the definitive video game experience. As Marco Alessandro Minoli, Director of Publishing at Slitherine, stated, their goal is not just a launch, but an ongoing, living evolution for the franchise. They aim to expand upon previous Warhammer titles like Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector and Gladius by creating a constantly evolving experience.

The new game will utilize the mechanics established in Blood Bowl 3 but is set to incorporate the latest official tabletop ruleset, which has been updated through September 2025 (known as the Third Season Edition). This update brings fresh strategic depth and introduces exciting roster expansions, including the addition of Bretonnians and Khemri Tomb Kings.

To give fans an immediate taste of the new experience, a playable demo will be available for PC later this summer. This demonstration features Rumble Mode, a fast-paced, dynamic 7-player format designed to deliver quick and intense matches right out of the gate.

Interestingly, existing owners of Blood Bowl 3 on PC and consoles will receive Warhammer Blood Bowl as a free upgrade, ensuring that all previously purchased teams and cosmetics are carried over seamlessly.
