Free Witcher 3 Remastered on Switch 2 using a Switch 1 cart
Toss a Cart to Your Witcher: The Clever Way to Unlock the Remastered Adventure
CD Projekt Red has committed fully to bringing the legendary experience of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Remastered to every fan, regardless of their console. But for those eager to dive into this epic world on the new Nintendo Switch 2, a surprisingly clever loophole has emerged, promising a free way to access the full game.
Forget expensive keys or complicated digital purchases. If you happen to have a physical copy of the original The Witcher game from the Nintendo Switch 1, you might be able to unlock the full remastered experience for your new Switch 2.
The secret lies in leveraging the game’s digital infrastructure. As shared by community members, the physical cartridge acts as a unique key, allowing users to download a completely free, full copy of the Remastered game onto any supported system.
This method bypasses the need for traditional methods like a Game-Key Card. The brilliant part is that the Switch 2 player doesn’t need the original Switch 1 cartridge in their hands to play the remastered version—the access is granted digitally through the established system.
It’s a perfect example of how dedicated gamers can find creative solutions to unlock incredible content. Instead of paying for access, you simply tap into the shared gaming ecosystem to experience one of the genre’s masterpieces without the upfront cost.
