Gears of War supports Never Fight Alone suicide prevention

When we talk about community, connection, and the power of shared experience, the gaming world often serves as a powerful backdrop. The Gears of War franchise is proving that it can be more than just a battle for survival; it is a platform for meaningful connection and a dedicated space for mental wellness.

This commitment is highlighted by the ongoing Never Fight Alone campaign, which marks the fifth year of a dedicated effort to help prevent suicide. In partnership with Crisis Text Line and UK-based illustrator Luke Preece, the campaign is actively working to remind players and fans that they are not alone and that support is readily available.

The foundation of this initiative is built on a pledge of giving back. The Coalition donates 1% of net revenue from its products to the global partner, Crisis Text Line. This partnership has expanded significantly, joining forces with Aquí Estoy, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving people in need across twenty Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, Spain, and the Caribbean.

The impact of this collaborative effort is profound. To date, the Never Fight Alone initiative has supported over 16,000 Crisis Text Line conversations, demonstrating the deep, tangible connection between the gaming community and critical mental health resources.

Dena Trujillo, CEO at Crisis Text Line, expressed pride in this enduring relationship. She noted that the Gears of War community has been instrumental in facilitating more than 16,000 conversations when people needed them most, emphasizing that this impact continues to grow through initiatives like the Gears of War: E-Day and the Never Fight Alone Charity Bundle.

To commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day each year on September 10th, the campaign renews its commitment by offering fans a way to contribute through limited-edition merchandise. This year’s striking artwork comes from longtime collaborator Luke Preece, an illustrator known for his work with artists like Metallica and science-fiction franchises such as Aliens.

These exclusive designs are now available on a 2026 T-shirt and hoodie, and new in-game items are arriving with the launch.

Furthermore, players can channel their support directly. When Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6th, players will unlock the Never Fight Alone Charity Bundle, which features unique character skins, weapon skin sets, emblems, banners, and icons. All net revenue generated from this bundle is donated directly to Crisis Text Line, ensuring that the community’s passion translates into vital, confidential mental health support.

Gears has consistently shown that they each other’s backs. For any player or person who is struggling, the message remains clear: you are connected, and help is waiting. If you or someone you know needs immediate support, you can reach out by texting GEARS to 741741 to be connected with a Crisis Text Line volunteer.
