Stephen Root, the familiar voice behind Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland on King of the Hill, made the connection official in a recent interview with the Associated Press. “Yeah, you’re gonna see me in it,” Root stated. He added that the game is slated for release on November 19th, providing a tantalizing glimpse into what’s next.
The link between the animated series and the sprawling criminal landscape of GTA 6 was already hinted at. A trailer for the game featured a character with a distinct voice that immediately sparked fan speculation. Once the identity was revealed, the mystery was solved: the character is Brian Heder, a figure deeply entrenched in the game’s underworld.
We see Brian Heder in action, often advising the protagonist Jason, who navigates the treacherous waters of illicit trade. One memorable line showcases Heder’s rough demeanor as he demands payment: “Just go get me my cheques!”
Rockstar has provided deeper context regarding Heder and his family, fleshing out the lore of this classic smuggler. The official description paints a picture of a man steeped in the golden age of smuggling:
“Brian’s a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys,” the blurb explains. “He is still moving product through his boat yard with his third wife, Lori, and he’s long enough to let others do his dirty work.”
The narrative further details the complicated relationship Brian has with Jason, noting that Brian lets Jason occupy one of his properties, provided he assists with local shakedowns and occasionally joins him for Lori’s sangria.
