GTA 6 download size is 210GB revealed
Get ready to prepare for a digital behemoth. The anticipation surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI is already fueling massive download expectations, and when it comes to the sheer scale of the experience, the numbers are beginning to appear.
Latest estimates place the download size for GTA 6 on the PlayStation 5 at a hefty 210GB. This figure, reported by PlayStation Store sleuths, immediately puts the game firmly in the category of storage hogs. It’s no wonder fans are already buzzing about the potential space requirements for this massive open world.
To put that number into perspective, it sounds significantly larger than its predecessors. While GTA 5 occupied a respectable 105GB on PC, and Red Dead Redemption 2 sits at 150GB on PC, the expectation is that GTA 6 will push storage limits even further. Naturally, there’s always the lingering question of whether the game itself or the associated online components will become the new king of digital storage.
It is important to remember that these figures are estimates, and the reality of download sizes can shift. Differences exist between console and PC game file sizes, and variations occur depending on whether you are downloading the base game or a full package. Furthermore, the experience on PC—when the game inevitably launches there—will introduce yet another variable to the equation.
Despite the technical uncertainties, the biggest takeaway for players is the opportunity to start the journey early. Pre-loading for GTA 6 opens on November 12, a full week before the game’s official launch on November 19. For those eager to dive into Los Santos sooner, pre-loading can save valuable time that would otherwise be spent waiting for the download to complete.
With the launch date fast approaching, setting aside that space for the new era of crime and chaos is the next big move. Prepare your storage, and get ready for the massive download that is about to redefine open-world gaming.
