Nothing sets the mood for a crime spree quite like the perfect soundtrack, and Rockstar Games is turning up the volume on audio experience for players of Grand Theft Auto 6. The developer has unveiled a dynamic in-game radio experience, complete with curated stations and even some celebrity DJs, all accessible directly through the protagonist’s smartphone.

This isn’t just background noise; it’s an invitation to dive into a diverse world of sound. Rockstar has revealed six distinct radio stations, each offering a unique genre and atmosphere, ensuring that whether players are cruising through a desert landscape or navigating a bustling metropolis, there’s always a perfect beat waiting.

The lineup is a masterclass in musical diversity, pulling from Latin rhythms to heavy metal and classic hip-hop. For instance, Cocoteo FM delivers modern Latin music, hosted by El Martillo and La Gata, while fans of high-octane energy can tune into The Chamber 106.6, which features a curated mix of classic and modern heavy metal tracks by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom.

Rockstar isn’t just providing playlists; they’re bringing in some serious talent. The roster of voices includes global music icons, with Bad Bunny and Lana del Ray lending their voices to Cocoteo FM. Meanwhile, the rustic vibes of Back Country Radio are brought to life by the husband of Lana del Ray, Jeremy Dufrene, who steps in as Mud Dog Mike.

The stations continue this eclectic theme. AfroBank FM showcases the best of African music through the spins of Burna and Palmsy, while easy listening fans can enjoy Flash FM, where Robyn and Alex dish out pop hits. Rounding out the sonic journey are Dirty South Classics, featuring regional rap and hip-hop delivered by Trick and Trina.

The station list is simply the beginning of the audio immersion. Rockstar has also confirmed that players will have access to a series of on-demand podcasts, offering listeners not just music but unsolicited opinions and deeper context, all accessible through the game’s mobile interface.

Beyond the radio, the audio narrative extends to the game’s broader creative ambitions. Rockstar has previously teased that GTA 6 will feature the “next evolution of in-game radio, and more.” Adding to this multimedia experience, the upcoming GTA 6 album is set to feature 34 specially written songs, including tracks penned by Keith Richards and Travis Scott.

As developers work to flesh out the experience, the details regarding the on-demand podcasts are still forthcoming, promising further layers of audio storytelling for players ready to connect with their characters and the world of Los Santos in a whole new way.
