Kamiya tells Xbox CEO he’s ready for Scalebound

Despite the project being officially shut down years ago, Kamiya remains ready. When asked about the possibility of bringing the canceled title back, he issued a clear challenge to Xbox CEO Asha Sharma: if the company is ready, he is ready to make it happen.
This ambition is rooted in more than just nostalgia. Kamiya and the team at PlatinumGames once poured years of creative energy into developing Scalebound, an Xbox One exclusive action-RPG that was announced back in 2014. Though the project faced delays and eventually was officially canceled, the memories of that collaborative period remain vivid for the developers.
Even after leaving PlatinumGames, Kamiya’s passion for the project endures. He has since headed up the studio Clovers, where the team is currently focused on exciting new projects like Okami 2.
When reflecting on the history of Scalebound, Kamiya noted that while there were difficult times, the shared experience of creating the game was incredibly rewarding. He expressed deep gratitude that those who worked on the project still look back on that time with such enjoyment.
