Leaked Lego Dragon Ball makes older sets look bad
The Lego fan community has been buzzing with excitement following a recent leak of a highly anticipated Dragon Ball set, and the reaction is overwhelmingly positive. A first look at the upcoming Lego Shenron & Goku set has landed, showcasing a mythical scene that is sparking some lively debate among collectors.
The leaked imagery, shared by reliable sources, features the magnificent Shenron curling around the Dragon Balls with Goku hovering nearby on a cloud. The model appears to be a substantial undertaking, positioning itself as an 18+ display model featuring over 1,700 pieces. Details suggest this epic set is slated for release in November and will retail for $180.
Naturally, the community immediately jumped into comparisons. Fans quickly drew parallels to other popular mythical beasts in the Lego universe, most notably the recent Lego Rayquaza release. While the visual resemblance existed, the comparison quickly turned into a friendly tussle over aesthetics and value.
Some members of the community pointed out that while the resemblance was striking, the perceived impact differed significantly. One top comment on the leak hilariously suggested that the new dragon design made the previous Rayquaza look rather pedestrian. However, others argued that this critique overlooked the sheer scale of the pieces involved.
The argument for the new Dragon Ball set centers on the sheer focus of the design. While other models might feature elaborate display stands, the new Dragon Ball set puts all the emphasis squarely on the mythical creature itself, with minimal distraction. This design choice allows the model to prioritize the detailed dragon, maximizing the impact of the pieces used.
Ultimately, the consensus seems to lean toward the excitement of the new creation. Many fans expressed genuine awe at the craftsmanship, regardless of their personal familiarity with the anime. One user noted that even without being a fan of Dragon Ball, the model just looks incredibly cool. It seems Lego is delivering a fantastic piece of imagination that appeals across the board.
With the exciting details confirmed, the Lego Shenron & Goku set is officially set to launch on the Lego store in November, promising a new adventure for collectors ready to bring this epic scene to life with bricks.
