Wizards of the Coast has thrown a truly bizarre and brilliant curveball into the Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair, launching a new monthly “superdrop” event that mixes fantasy, KPop, and zombies into a delightfully lighthearted package.

This latest collection is perfectly timed for Halloween, but unlike the darker, gothic twists seen in previous drops, this Superdrop leans into whimsy, delivering fantastic crossovers that appeal to a wide range of card game fans. The biggest draws, of course, are the mashups of Jim Henson’s legendary Labyrinth and the high-energy world of KPop Demon Hunters.

The Labyrinth theme is the star of the show, featuring three separate collections. The Secret Lair x Jim Henson’s Labyrinth Fear Me, Love Me drop focuses heavily on Goblin kindred cards, headlined by cards depicting figures like Muxus and Goblin Grandee, even featuring an illustration of David Bowie as the Goblin King. While it includes some wonderfully bizarre cards, like a copy of Trinisphere, the drop also features challenging and gorgeous art, though some of the card details are intentionally designed to keep players scratching their heads. Wizards even included a Leveler, offering unique combo opportunities when paired with other cards.

Adding another layer of complexity is the KPop Demon Hunters drop. This collection is packed with cards offering serious combo potential, including notable inclusions like Freed From The Real and Underworld Breach—cards notorious for their status in various formats.

Wizards is also still experimenting with integrating Marvel content, this time with a Marvel Zombies drop centered on Zombie kindred cards. While the theme is certainly wild, the cards themselves aren’t necessarily designed to command high prices unless you are a true devotee of the Zombie theme.

Beyond the main attractions, the Superdrop offers other creative nods. The Manufactured Grounds by See Machine drop brings stunning new artwork to the original artifact land cycle from Mirrodin. There is also the Peace, Love and Treefolk drop, which provides a meaningful reprint for Timber Protector.

For those eager to dive into this chaos, the Corn Maze Superdrop will be available starting October 12th, at 9 am PT or 12 pm ET. Wizards of the Coast will even throw in a themed copy of Maze of Ith for any order exceeding $199.
