The September Nintendo Direct delivered a flood of exciting news, throwing the console world into a whirlwind of upcoming titles and ambitious updates for the Switch 2. While the party wasn’t dominated by massive first-party reveals, the third-party talent brought astonishing games and deep updates that promise a vibrant future for portable gaming.

The biggest buzz centers around the transition to the Switch 2, where developers are pushing boundaries with enhanced visuals, new gameplay mechanics, and expanded worlds. Fans can look forward to titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, which will arrive on December 4, 2026, bringing local co-op and the massive Ascendance expansion to the new console.
