Chase & Seek: Obakeidoro 2 Brings Cutesy Spooky Tension to the Switch

If you’ve been diving into the world of asymmetric multiplayer horror, you know the genre is full of intense experiences. But sometimes, even games like Dead By Daylight can feel a little too heavy for some players. Enter Obakeidoro 2: Chase & Seek, Free Style’s latest offering, which promises an entirely different kind of fright—one that prioritizes delightful spookiness over graphic violence.

This new title takes the classic hide-and-seek mechanic and injects it with a unique visual flair. Instead of relying on chainsaws and blood-soaked carnage, focuses entirely on creating tension through atmosphere and charm. It swaps out visceral horror for something far more whimsical: cutesy, spoopy suspense.

The game puts players in the shoes of either the Monster or the Human, setting up a thrilling asymmetry where roles dictate the gameplay. One player must manage the terrifying pursuit, while others attempt to evade capture, all under a ticking clock that demands quick thinking and stealth.

In this unique setup, the focus shifts entirely to the chase. The Monster has just three minutes to hunt down and catch everyone else, creating frantic, engaging moments built around the core dynamic of pursuit and evasion.

Launched successfully in Japan last year, is now making its way to Western audiences. It’s coming soon to the Nintendo Switch, bringing this fresh take on multiplayer horror to a wider gaming community.
