Four years after the haunting beauty of A Plague Tale: Requiem, Asobo Studio has delivered a compelling continuation with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. This prequel isn’t just a sequel; it represents an impressive visual evolution, built upon the developer’s proprietary Zouna engine to create environments and character models that are richly detailed and feature superb art direction.

The core aim of recent testing focused on providing players with the optimal balance between visual fidelity and performance on PC. This required careful analysis of the game’s performance and carefully observing Asobo’s decisions regarding settings selected for the PlayStation 5 version.

While the visual spectacle is undeniable, the PC experience revealed some unexpected wrinkles. Unfortunately, the settings menu on the PC release is noticeably lacking in guidance. It mirrors the experience of Requiem, offering no clear indication of how specific adjustments to settings will actually impact visual fidelity or performance.

More frustratingly, the lack of a proper VRAM usage meter leaves users in the dark regarding memory limitations. This opacity makes the process of fine-tuning graphical settings unnecessarily opaque for the player trying to maximize their PC hardware.

Despite these interface shortcomings, the underlying scalability of the game remains a notable achievement, confirming that Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy excels on PC with superior scalability.
