Play Wreck Runners Update Early with XBOX Insiders
Get ready to dive into the unknown, because the world of Wreck Runners is about to shift. XBOX Insiders are invited to jump aboard the ORCA and experience sneak peeks of the next evolution of the game before the official September Update even arrives.
This isn’t just another patch; it’s a deep dive into uncharted territory. For a limited time, the community has an opportunity to test an unreleased build, offering a glimpse into the revolutionary content planned for the upcoming major update. You don’t need to own the game to participate—just bring your friends and get ready for an expedition into the Triangle.
During this exclusive free playtest, crews will be among the first to explore major additions to the experience, including the introduction of Temples, entirely new locations where salvage and exploration will take on a whole new meaning. Players will also get to customize their Runner colors, adding a personal touch to their underwater journeys.
But the real thrills lie beneath the waves. Testers will encounter a dangerous new underwater enemy hunting beneath the surface, adding a thrilling layer of tension to every dive. Furthermore, the progression system will evolve with Paranormal Progression, introducing new choices and dynamic narrative shifts as crews push through the depths.
Exploration will also expand beyond the familiar, rewarding players with opportunities for Trustwell Lost Salvage, pushing crews to discover hidden areas beyond the expected routes. Interface improvements and new hazards will also be introduced, refining the overall experience.
To ensure this new experience is accessible to everyone, the build supports a wide range of languages, including Arabic, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and many more. The developers are especially keen to hear feedback on how the translations read—if anything feels unclear or unnatural, the community is encouraged to report it.
The playtest runs from Friday, September 4, through Wednesday, September 9. Ready your crew, set your clocks, and prepare for an immersive adventure.
Joining the test is simple. Users must sign in to their XBOX Series X|S console, launch the XBOX Insider Hub app, navigate to Previews > Wreck Runners, select Join, and install the Wreck Runners Playtest. Remember, since this is a development build, players may encounter bugs, and content is subject to change before the official September Update launches.
If any issues arise during the playtest, players can report problems directly through the controller menu by selecting Report a problem, choosing the Games category, and then the Wreck Runners Playtest subcategory.
