Next year, when you strap on your PSVR2 headset, you won’t be screaming “objection” at the screen. AMATA Games has made a fascinating decision regarding a highly anticipated title, opting not to release the virtual reality version of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies for Sony’s platform.

This move shifts the focus, but the anticipation for the VR adaptation remains high. The VR version of the courtroom adventure, developed under license from Capcom, has been announced for deployment on Meta Quest and new Meta VR Glasses.

This adaptation draws from the fifth main installment in Capcom’s beloved courtroom battle series, promising an immersive experience in a new medium. The game is slated for release in 2027, giving fans plenty of time to look forward to the immersive experience.

While the direct VR release for the PlayStation ecosystem is off the table, the development of the VR experience for Meta platforms signals a growing focus on bringing classic litigation adventures into the virtual realm. It’s a reminder that the next great courtroom drama might just be waiting for you in virtual reality.
