GameSir G7 Pro Review: Premium Features, Mid-Range Price
8.5/10 — GameSir G7 Pro
Works with: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC
Pros
- TMR thumbsticks resist drift
- Tri-mode connectivity with wireless play
- 1000Hz polling on PC
- Strong value compared with Elite-style pads
Cons
- Not as widely available as bigger brands
- Software can be fiddly
The GameSir G7 Pro takes everything people liked about the budget G7 SE and adds the features that were missing. It’s wireless, it’s more premium, and it’s still cheaper than most “pro” controllers.
Design and features
It keeps the familiar Xbox layout but upgrades to TMR thumbsticks, a newer magnetic sensor technology that, like Hall effect sticks, is designed to avoid drift while being highly precise. Tri-mode connectivity means it can connect wired, via a wireless dongle or over Bluetooth, and on PC it can poll at 1000Hz for very low latency. There are back buttons and trigger stops for competitive play.
Verdict
The GameSir G7 Pro delivers most of what you’d want from a premium controller, at a mid-range price. It’s one of the best-value pro-style controllers for Xbox and PC.
