Nacon Revolution 5 Pro Review: The Best Third-Party PS5 Pad?
8.5/10 — Nacon Revolution 5 Pro
Works with: PS5, PS4, PC
Pros
- Hall effect sticks resist drift
- Comfortable asymmetric layout
- Adjustable weights and rear buttons
- Officially licensed, with a charging dock
Cons
- No haptic feedback or adaptive triggers
- Expensive
The Nacon Revolution 5 Pro is one of the most highly rated third-party PS5 controllers, and many reviewers consider it the best alternative to the DualSense Edge.
Design and features
It uses an asymmetric, Xbox-style stick layout, which many players find more comfortable. Hall effect thumbsticks resist drift, and weights can be added or removed to change its feel. There are four rear buttons and trigger stops, and it connects wirelessly via a dongle or Bluetooth, with a charging dock included.
Weaknesses
Like all third-party PS5 controllers, it can’t use the DualSense’s haptic feedback or adaptive triggers, so games that rely on those lose some of their feel.
Verdict
The Nacon Revolution 5 Pro is a superb pro controller with drift-resistant sticks and a comfortable layout. If you don’t need haptics and adaptive triggers, it’s arguably a better buy than the DualSense Edge.
