Razer Wolverine Ultimate Review: Customisation Meets Chroma

7/10 — Razer Wolverine Ultimate
Works with: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Pros
- Six extra remappable buttons
- Interchangeable thumbsticks and D-pads
- Clicky, responsive face buttons
- Razer Chroma RGB lighting
Cons
- Wired only
- Expensive for a wired pad
- Standard sticks can drift
The Razer Wolverine Ultimate launched in 2017 as a premium wired alternative to Microsoft’s Elite controller. It’s officially licensed for Xbox One and also works with Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Design and features
It has a sturdy, comfortable Xbox-style body with six extra remappable buttons, including rear triggers and extra bumpers. Thumbsticks and D-pads can be swapped, and the trigger stops shorten the pull for shooters. Razer’s mecha-tactile face buttons give a crisp click, and Chroma RGB lighting adds some flair. Settings are adjusted through Razer’s app.
Verdict
The Razer Wolverine Ultimate is a well-built, highly customisable controller. It’s wired only, and newer pads now offer drift-resistant sticks, but if you find one at a good price, it’s still a solid competitive pad.
