Scuf Instinct Pro Review: Esports Credentials, Familiar Feel
7.5/10 — Scuf Instinct Pro
Works with: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC
Pros
- Four rear paddles
- Instant triggers for competitive shooters
- Swappable thumbsticks and faceplates
- Familiar Xbox-style layout
Cons
- Expensive
- Standard sticks are as drift-prone as most pads
- Battery and build don't feel premium for the price
Scuf has built its name on modified controllers for professional players, and the Instinct Pro is its premium wireless pad for Xbox and PC. It takes a layout that feels instantly familiar and adds features designed for competitive play.
Design and features
The headline additions are four rear paddles, which can be remapped to any button so you never have to take your thumbs off the sticks. Instant triggers shorten the pull to a click, which is great for shooters, and can be switched off for racing games. The thumbsticks and faceplates can be swapped, and you can store three profiles on the controller.
Verdict
The Scuf Instinct Pro is a solid, comfortable pad for competitive players, and its paddles are well placed. But it’s expensive, and rivals like the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro now offer drift-resistant sticks for similar money. It’s worth considering if you like Scuf’s style and can find a good deal.
