Mistfall Hunter, the game that expertly blends dark fantasy Soulslike RPG mechanics with tense extraction shooter gameplay, has officially hit a major milestone: one million players have joined the world of Weavereach! Developer Bellring Games is celebrating this massive achievement by unveiling an ambitious roadmap for Season 1 and teasing what’s next in Season 2.

The developers are clearly feeling the love. As a thank you to the community, all players should check their inboxes for codes offering rewards, including the Spellcasting standing pose, five free Moonlight Nectars, a Pro Combat Bag, and an Advanced Combat Bag.

But the celebration isn’t just about loot; it’s also about player agency. Hearing overwhelming feedback about players wanting to tackle the challenging Brandrgarde map missions solo, Bellring is rolling out a major update: a new solo mode for both Normal and Cataclysm Brandrgarde missions, launching in September during Season 1.

This move, however, comes with a strategic twist. Adding these two new modes will inevitably introduce fresh challenges to the matchmaking queue, presenting new balance tests for the Mistfall Hunter class. The studio is carefully monitoring the impact and promises to communicate their findings before making further adjustments to ensure a fair experience.

The Season 1 roadmap is packed with adventure. It’s broken into three exciting phases. Phase 1 introduces a new difficulty level for the endgame Einherjar mode, alongside brand new seasonal tasks and content. Phase 2 unlocks those seasonal missions and the highly anticipated solo Brandrgarde mode, plus the introduction of the Underworld speed challenge. Finally, Phase 3 heats things up with the mysterious Golden Woodling monster, which attempts to disguise itself as treasure, and an exciting Ancestor Tree random match event.

While the immediate roadmap is thrilling, Season 2 remains shrouded in tantalizing mystery. Bellring has hinted at major upgrades, promising a new Blackarrow weapon called the Javelin, a fresh seasonal theme, exclusive gameplay experiences, a new progression system, and more content to reveal gradually.

Despite this engaging development schedule, Mistfall Hunter has not yet received widespread critical acclaim since its full launch. Currently, the game sits at a mixed rating on Steam with thousands of reviews, where some players point to optimization issues, heavy reliance on microtransactions, and limited solo options. Nevertheless, the core concept—a dark Souls-style fantasy setting infused with an experimental extraction gameplay hook—has laid a solid foundation. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the roadmap to see if Bellring can turn that mixed rating into universal praise.
