Same Character Across All Diablo 4 Seasons
Get ready to dust off your inventory, because Diablo 4 Season 15 is bringing some seriously exciting changes that will fundamentally change how you manage your Eternal Realm characters. The biggest feature arriving is the game-changing Rebirth function.
For players who cherish their class and want to track hundreds of hours of dedicated gameplay without starting over, Rebirth is essentially a digital time machine. Instead of those seasonal characters being automatically wiped away, this new mechanic allows you to transfer your Eternal Realm characters into the seasonal realm. The best part? You keep all the valuable history: your class, name, appearance, and even all your cosmetic preferences, including selected pets, transmogs, mounts, portals, and headstones.
While your playtime remains completely intact, the function does require a choice regarding gear. When you initiate Rebirth, any equipped gear in a character’s inventory will be lost. This gives players a moment to decide if they want to stash all their powerful loot into the Eternal Realm before proceeding, making it a smart decision for those who want to streamline their collection.
Beyond this highly anticipated character feature, Season 15 is packed with nostalgic flair and fresh gameplay mechanics. Players will be able to unlock iconic items from past Diablo eras, such as Diablo 2‘s Stone of Jordan and Diablo 3‘s Ring of Royal Grandeur, adding a rich layer of history to the game.
The season also introduces brand new Overland activities, including engaging challenge dungeons and open-world ambushes. Furthermore, there will be a completely novel item type called Soul Splinters, which come with potent benefits but also carry significant downsides, adding a compelling new element to loot hunting.
This evolution is part of an ongoing journey for the game. Diablo 4 was recently in Season 14, a period marked by massive Mythic item changes that drew mixed reactions from the community. Blizzard is clearly listening, and they are planning additional, more deterministic ways to craft Mythic items for the upcoming Season 15.
Blizzard is keeping some major details close until the official reveal at BlizzCon, scheduled for September 12-13. Players will get a chance to test out many of these new features on the game’s public-test realm between August 4 and 11. Mark your calendars—the next chapter of Diablo 4 is shaping up to be epic.
