Shape of Dreams Action Roguelite launches on Xbox with biggest update
The dream world just got a serious upgrade. Shape of Dreams has officially landed on the XBOX, available today for all Series X|S owners and, most excitingly, day one with Xbox Game Pass.
For those who have ventured into this sprawling dreamscape, a year has passed since the world first opened its doors to over 1.5 million players. Today, that massive community gets access to the action, style, and boundless discovery of this co-op action roguelite, bundled with its biggest update yet: The Starless Path.
Shape of Dreams invites players to step into the Rapids as one of nine unique Travelers, each drawn to the dreamscape for different reasons. The core of the game is fast, stylish hack-and-slash action where the rules are constantly in flux. Combat isn’t fixed; it’s a fluid dance of Memories and Essences, allowing players to experiment endlessly and forge builds that no two runs will ever replicate.
With over 200 Memories and Essences to draw from, there is no single correct way to conquer the dream. Whether you emerge as a frost mage, a master of critical strikes, or a summoner of allies, the true challenge lies in finding that unexpected combination that defines your unique path through the shifting dream.
The experience deepens when you bring company. While you can tackle the dream solo, the real synergy happens in co-op mode, allowing up to four Travelers to share the same reality. When these distinct combat styles combine, explosive synergies emerge, making collaborative wins both thrilling and deeply satisfying. Plus, cross-play is supported from day one, ensuring you can team up with friends across different platforms.
The latest expansion, The Starless Path, throws new adventure into the mix. A brand-new Traveler, Cetus, joins the ranks as a frost fighter capable of unleashing devastating glacial bursts. This update also introduces a new path, the Way of Stars, which expands how Travelers grow, revealing hidden stories, exclusive emotes, and a final boss that promises a new level of challenge.
The depth of the world is further enhanced with six shared Identity Memories, unlocking deeper secrets about the Rapids. Furthermore, even familiar encounters have gained teeth, as Heroic bosses now feature tougher attack patterns at higher difficulties. This ensures that every confrontation is a fresh, engaging test of strategy.
