Stan has no idea what happens in Avengers Doomsday
The world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is buzzing with anticipation for the next cinematic event, Avengers: Doomsday, but behind the massive spectacle, some of the most fascinating details about its creation are finally emerging. One of the actors central to the saga, Sebastian Stan, has opened up about the often-turbulent process of filmmaking, revealing that he never received a full script for the blockbuster film.
Speaking in a recent interview, Stan explained that the directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, intentionally kept the script close to the chest. They worked in a more fluid, continuous style, constantly evolving the narrative rather than following a rigid blueprint. This approach, Stan noted, allowed them to avoid spoilers and keep the creative process evolving.
“Honestly, I have absolutely no idea because we didn’t even have a script,” he told French Sunday newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche when asked what to expect from Doomsday. “We were just shooting scattered scenes. It’s a different way of working, continuous, constantly evolving. The producers didn’t want us to read it in its entirety, to avoid journalists asking us questions.”
While the exact blueprint remains elusive, the result is a sprawling, dynamic narrative, filled with incredible action and unexpected twists. Stan will once again reprise his role as Bucky Barnes, who is now firmly established within the New Avengers lineup following the events of Thunderbolts.
The casting for this epic installment brings a stellar lineup, including Florence Pugh and David Harbour. While their specific roles in the massive crossover event remain a closely guarded secret, the trailers have already hinted at thrilling ensemble moments.
At the heart of the conflict is the arrival of a formidable antagonist: Robert Downey Jr., stepping into the iconic role of Doctor Doom. This confrontation promises to unite an extraordinary collection of heroes and villains, bringing together the New Avengers, the original X-Men, the cast of Black Panther, Captain America, and the Fantastic Four.
The latest trailer has already provided tantalizing breadcrumbs about the unfolding story, hinting at deep history and complex motivations between figures like Sue Storm, Reed Richards, and Victor Von Doom. The teaser suggests that Doom has lost everything he cherished, pushing him onto a destructive course.
As the narrative builds toward this monumental release, Marvel is strategically utilizing recent events to bridge the gap to the next chapter. The upcoming re-release of Avengers: Endgame, now titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, is set to act as the perfect narrative bridge to the massive events of Doomsday.
Fans can expect further revelations as the MCU continues to unfold, with more plot details to be revealed alongside the re-release date of Avengers: Endgame on September 25.
