In the world of Mortal Shell 2, survival isn’t just about managing health; it’s about mastering temporary defenses. The introduction of Shells offers players an extra layer of protection, adding a dynamic new element to combat.
However, this added protection comes with a serious consequence. Losing an entire health state doesn’t just mean a reduced shield—it forces the player into their vulnerable Harbinger form, fundamentally changing their state on the battlefield.
But don’t despair if you find yourself in a difficult situation. There is a way back from the brink. Players can still regain control of their Shell by focusing on melee attacks, dealing sufficient damage to reverse the shift and restore their defensive status.
The hunt for these protective layers is complex. While there are a total of eight Shells available, the true challenge lies in the map itself. Only seven of these protective layers can be marked and pursued, adding a layer of strategic decision-making to the game.
Furthermore, the journey to claiming these defenses is not automatic. Some of the most coveted Shells require players to complete specific encounters or acquire particular items before they can be successfully claimed.
