Upcoming PS5 Games: Exclusive Action Ahead

The landscape of console gaming is shifting, and after a period where exclusive titles seemed to fade into the background, both Xbox and PlayStation are making a strong comeback, signaling a renewed focus on console exclusivity.

Sony recently announced a significant shift, confirming that future single-player games will primarily be exclusive to the console. This move sets the stage for an exciting lineup of titles slated for 2026 and beyond, promising players some of the most deeply immersive experiences available.

The PlayStation lineup is shaping up to deliver some major cinematic and action hits. First among these is Marvel’s Wolverine, set for release on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PS5. Developed by Insomniac Games, this title dives into the Marvel universe with a focus on intense action and promises plenty of visceral content, continuing the studio’s commitment to delivering high-octane gameplay.

Further enhancing the console experience is God of War Laufey, scheduled for February 16, 2027, also exclusively on PS5. This entry shifts focus to Kratos’s relationship with Faye, exploring her journey in the Everywhen plane and her quest for support amidst mythological conflict. It promises a deep, emotional narrative that expands on the lore of the Norse saga.

For fans of high-stakes adventure, the sequel Until Dawn 2 is also on the horizon, expected in 2027. Following the success of its predecessor, this installment will continue the theme of intense consequence-driven decision-making and explore a new cast of characters navigating a very real and deadly crisis.

The PlayStation roadmap also features some unique and intriguing projects. Phantom Blade Zero, developed by Chinese studio S-Game, is an action RPG drawing inspiration from Wuxia. While it will launch simultaneously on PS5 and PC, players can anticipate a graphically stunning experience that offers a “spiritual rebirth” of the original series.

Another unique title to look forward to is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, another project from Naughty Dog. Players will step into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a rogue bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria in an alternate 80s-inspired future. Bonus: GTA 6 is slated for November 19, 2026, and will be exclusively available on consoles, meaning players on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S will have access to the sprawling open world of Grand Theft Auto 6.
