Watch the New Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Gameplay with a Pink Chocobo
Get ready to ascend. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is poised to be the most ambitious chapter in the remake trilogy, promising not just a greater number of regions to explore, but a staggering leap in verticality. Square Enix is pushing the boundaries of environmental design, offering players an experience that redefines planetary-scale adventure.
A taste of this incredible vertical scope is already visible in the gameplay footage, particularly within the Midgar region. Players will witness Cloud navigating a truly massive chasm beneath the city, complete with daring aerial maneuvers atop a pink chocobo. This level of environmental complexity suggests that the world of Final Fantasy 7 will never be flatter than we thought possible.
While this glimpse focuses on the sheer scale of the environments, the ambition goes deeper. Considering how closely the previous installment, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, expanded upon the open-world design of the remake, Revelation is expected to raise the bar significantly. The game promises even grander and more intricate landscapes for the party to discover.
Beyond the exploration, the narrative and operational scope are set to expand dramatically. Players will also get to experience Cid’s iconic airship, the Highwind, which will serve as the crew’s central base of operations, adding another layer of interaction to the world.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi has estimated that this commitment to sprawling content will result in a game that is roughly 200GB in size, showcasing the sheer density of detail and space packed into the experience.
Fans can expect a substantial journey ahead. Estimates suggest a complete playthrough of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation could easily demand up to 100 hours of dedicated play. This massive scope is further supplemented by two post-launch expansions starring Vincent Valentine and Sephiroth, which will extend the story into the year 2028.
The anticipation surrounding the trilogy’s conclusion is palpable. As one fan noted, the work done in the previous chapters has clearly left the team at Square Enix with plenty of story left to tell. We will just have to wait until April for the rest of the Revelation(s) to unfold.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is slated for release on April 8, 2027. Prepare yourselves for an epic finale that redefines what an open-world adventure can be.
