Witchbrook release date is here PS5 fans no longer miss out
The wait is finally over for fans of cozy pixel art and magical academia. After a decade of anticipation and several scheduling twists, the highly anticipated life simulation RPG Witchbrook is officially setting a new date for release.
For those who have followed the journey of this charming title, the path to launch has been anything but straightforward. First teased over ten years ago, the game blended the idyllic, farming life of Stardew Valley with the collegiate magic of a magical school, promising a truly unique and immersive experience. However, the journey has been punctuated by delays, pushing the launch window repeatedly from planned winter 2025, through 2026, and now into the future.
These extended timelines were not without their patience, but the developers, Chucklefish, have used the extra time to pour incredible detail into every pixel, ensuring that when Witchbrook arrives, it is exactly the handcrafted experience they envisioned.
Today, Chucklefish has confirmed the definitive release date: January 28, 2027. This much-awaited title will launch simultaneously across all major platforms, including PC, Xbox, Switch, Switch 2, and PS5, ensuring that no one misses out on stepping into the magical world of Mossport.
The launch pricing is set at $24.99, and the decision to prioritize the digital release timeline allowed the developers to plan for physical media later. They confirmed that both standard and collector’s editions will be released, but they will follow the initial digital launch, allowing physical media collectors time to prepare for the true special editions.
The team emphasized their commitment to quality, stating that they poured detail and care into creating the experience. They expressed immense gratitude for the support and patience shown by the community, especially during the extended development period.
With a concrete date finally in sight, there is a palpable sense of excitement about the imminent arrival of Witchbrook. Fans can now look forward to opening the grand doors of Witchbrook College and introducing themselves to the town and its people in the New Year.
