Wolverine actor’s terrifying performance revealed

McIntyre shared that his initial inspiration for this intensity was a somewhat unusual one: rabid dogs. While he admitted that finding such accurate inspiration is difficult, his resulting interpretation of seeing red surprised even the Insomniac team.

“I guess that’s good, right? Being terrifying,” McIntyre explained. However, the process highlighted the importance of trust within the production team. He noted that while pushing boundaries, he felt secure knowing the team would support him if the performance demanded it.

“They will help me if it’s not gonna work. They will tell me. They won’t just let it happen,” he added. This trust allowed him to take those huge swings with his character, fully inhabiting the raw intensity required of Wolverine.

The results were further amplified by the creative team. Animation director Brian Wyser and narrative director Walt Williams praised McIntyre for delivering not only the “raw” performance but also successfully embodying the core humanity of the character. They emphasized that true rage is rooted in deep emotion, noting that a genuine yearning and caring heart are essential to unlocking that level of pain.

Now, as players prepare for the launch on September 15th for PS5, they are stepping into a world where Wolverine must lead the charge. He rejoins Team X on a vital mission: stopping Sentinel creator Bolivar Trask from kidnapping mutants across the globe.

Wolverine’s journey will involve raw action as he navigates conflicts against formidable enemies, such as the ninja death-cult The Hand and the cybernetic mercenaries known as the Reavers. It is up to him to use his strength to slice and dice his way through these threats while grappling with the complex emotional landscape of being a hunted mutant.
