XBOX Insiders: Upgrade Homes and Master Saves

Xbox

XBOX Insiders are about to unlock a host of powerful new features designed to give players unprecedented control and deeper appreciation for their XBOX journey. Starting today, the platform is receiving updates focused on refining the Home experience, enhancing local storage management, and celebrating the history of achievements.

One of the immediate improvements focuses on giving players command over the Home screen. Users can now remove unwanted items from the Recent Games and Apps list, including the Play History tile, making the interface cleaner and allowing players to keep their focus squarely on what matters most.

For a truly immersive experience, a new background mode is rolling out. This feature allows dynamic or custom backgrounds to take center stage, letting players fade the user interface away and fully enjoy their chosen aesthetic. Simply tap the right thumbstick button on the controller from anywhere on the Home screen to enter full immersion.

Managing game storage has also been streamlined. While game saves are automatically backed up to the XBOX network, players can now view, sort, and delete local game saves that are not currently in use. This means players can finally reclaim valuable storage space by easily deleting large, unused files, ensuring there is plenty of room for new progress.

The XBOX journey is now even more rewarding thanks to significant updates around profile badges. These milestones, which tell the story of a player’s achievements, now come with rich detail. Players can view high-resolution artwork and specific details about when and how each badge was unlocked, making it easier than ever to celebrate milestones and discover the context behind every achievement.

A special recognition is also being given to those who were part of the early days. To celebrate the XBOX 25th anniversary, players who unlocked the Day One achievement in 2013 will receive a new commemorative profile badge, recognizing their place when the platform first launched.

Further enhancing the user experience, the Wishlist has also received a polish. Purchased games will now automatically be removed from the Wishlist, helping players spend less time managing their library and more time playing.

These updates are being rolled out first to the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha members, with select features becoming available to all XBOX Insiders starting today. For those who want to share their thoughts and provide feedback, there are dedicated channels available, and the XBOX Insider community is ready to help shape the future of the platform.
