The introduction of Tau was officially screened at the recent Tennocon expo, where it was presented alongside the Soulframe event. What immediately sets this new region apart is its pervasive theme: classic film noir. Forget bright, utopian futures; Tau offers a grittier, more atmospheric setting for the Sentients faction.

The exploration begins in places where the atmosphere itself feels heavy with history and corruption. One of the initial hubs is Fornax, a sprawling ringed city that seems to absorb all light. The environment is characterized by ceaseless, corrupting rain, perfectly reflecting the bleak nature of its inhabitants.

The residents of Fornax are clearly grappling with some deep-seated issues, adding layers of intrigue to the world. They are described as being addicted to a strange, pervasive substance known as the Bloom, suggesting a society slowly succumbing to decay under a misty, oppressive sky.

Within this dark landscape resides compelling figures, and Fornax is home to a particular character who perfectly embodies the noir aesthetic: Brysko. This memorable figure is depicted as a chain-smoking, trenchcoated Chimera Warframe.

More than just a design, Brysko carries an inner monologue that channels the spirit of a classic detective story, reminiscent of Raymond Chandler. Adding another layer of intrigue, this character’s voice has been brought to life by Critical Role’s Matt Mercer, promising a narrative depth that perfectly complements Tau’s shadowy lore.
