Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls 6 development underway Bethesda confirms
When major industry shifts occur, studios often find themselves recalibrating their communication strategies. Following recent widespread layoffs at Microsoft, Bethesda has taken the cue to step up and share more about the ambitious projects brewing within the studio.
The focus is squarely on two monumental undertakings: the highly anticipated development of The Elder Scrolls 6 and the upcoming world of Fallout 5. These massive RPGs are set to redefine their respective genres, and the studio has confirmed that these two tentpole titles are currently in preproduction simultaneously.
What makes this development even more exciting is the shared foundation. Both worlds are being built using a modified version of the Creation engine, a testament to Bethesda’s continued mastery of world-building technology, especially following the successful launch of Starfield.
Beyond these grand new beginnings, there is also exciting news for long-time fans. The studio has also confirmed that efforts are underway on revitalizing classic titles, with remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas officially confirmed to be in the works.
While these updates promise a future filled with epic lore and incredible gameplay, concrete release dates remain elusive for these projects. For now, the excitement lies in the sheer scale of what Bethesda is preparing to deliver, suggesting that the next era of open-world gaming is on its way.
