GTA 6 Footage and Map Leaks Spark Rockstar Takedowns
The world of Grand Theft Auto 6 is buzzing with chatter, fueled by recent, tantalizing leaks that have turned into a bizarre standoff between publishers and internet provocateurs. Just when fans thought they were getting glimpses of the future, a figure known online as Cyberleek dropped some rather dramatic “commandments” aimed squarely at Rockstar Games and other game publishers.
These weren’t just casual suggestions; they were serious demands issued to keep the floodgates closed. The leaker reportedly set forth three core principles:
- Thou Shalt Not Sell Digital Preorders.
- Thou Shalt Not Sell Fake Single-Player DLC.
- Thou Shalt Preserve Single-Player Content.
The message was clear: these rules were positioned as the absolute minimum acceptable boundary, not the ceiling of what was permissible. Cyberleek issued a further warning, stating that these were the floor, not the ceiling, of acceptable behavior, threatening to pursue publishers for any violation of these guidelines with additional leaks.
While the demands were dramatic, the leaked material itself offered a peek behind the curtain of the upcoming world. The first footage clip provided a brief, action-packed look at the game’s mechanics, featuring the co-lead, Jason, relaxing at home and engaging in some casual basketball. Viewers noted that this short clip, which included a look at the modified HUD and a basketball tutorial, might originate from an earlier build of the game than the version slated for release.
A second video offered a more intense dose of gameplay, showcasing Jason taking the wheel as the game’s driving physics came into play. The footage captured a chaotic sequence involving crashes, a confrontation with a delivery driver that led to a street fight utilizing the game’s combat engine, and a tense chase by law enforcement.
Adding to the curiosity, the leak also included a map of the game’s setting in Leonida, though it remains unclear whether this visual was provided by Rockstar or was a creation of a dedicated fan.
This wave of information arrived just over a week before GTA 6 is scheduled to launch an extended showcase on Netflix. That special is set to debut on August 27th and is expected to deliver an in-depth preview of many of the game’s featured elements.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19th for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. While physical copies will primarily contain codes, Take-Two Interactive has not entirely ruled out a disc release for the title.
