MCU’s Wiccan and Speed bring brotherly love
There is a palpable sense of destiny brewing in the Marvel Universe, particularly concerning the relationship between Wiccan and Speed. VisionQuest executive producer Mary Livanos suggests that when these two powerful figures finally share the screen, the audience will witness a truly brotherly connection.
Livanos has expressed excitement about the trajectory of these characters, noting that the idea of bringing Speed and Wiccan into the Marvel Universe was a flirtation during the WandaVision era. Now, seeing Tommy Maximoff come into focus and the growing rapport between Joe Locke and Ruaridh, the prospect of these two siblings sharing a stage feels inevitable and heartwarming.
The groundwork for this potential bond has been laid in recent appearances. Billy Maximoff, known as Wiccan, made his first significant appearance in Agatha: All Along. During that series, Billy sought out his twin brother, Tommy, and their adventures led them into some powerful magical territory. The dynamic was heightened when Billy confronted Agatha, resulting in a spectacular display of magic and the appearance of a blue crown-mask on his forehead.
In a related storyline, the concept of Speed, or Tommy, is explored in VisionQuest. Here, Tommy navigates life on the streets, employing his incredible speed for some slightly mischievous schemes before meeting his father, Vision. The complexity of Tommy’s existence—living in another person’s body and dealing with the realities of the rebuilt Vision—adds layers of depth to his journey.
While the exact details of their shared history within VisionQuest are still unfolding, the recent narrative has firmly established their intertwined fates. Whether they meet directly on screen or not, the narrative momentum points toward a future where these siblings find their connection.
The VisionQuest series is set to premiere on Disney Plus on October 14, offering fans a deeper dive into the lives of the Young Avengers and exploring the powerful, unexpected bonds that form in the midst of extraordinary circumstances.
