Shape of Dreams Co-op roguelite launches on PS5

The dream world is officially open, and PlayStation players are invited to dive into the spectacular, aggressive realm of Shape of Dreams, now launching on the PlayStation 5. This massive title arrives bundled with The Starless Path 1st Anniversary Update, marking the largest content expansion yet for the game.

Shape of Dreams invites players to step into the role of one of nine unique Travelers and descend into the unpredictable Rapids—a dreamscape that constantly reshapes itself with every descent. The combat is fast, flashy, and demands player ingenuity. It is a game where the true thrill lies not just in mastering abilities, but in discovering wild synergies and deciding what to create out of the elements you find.

At the heart of the gameplay are Memories and Essences. Memories serve as the core abilities, while Essences fundamentally rewrite how those abilities function. This system is designed for deep customization, allowing players to take a single-target attack and attach an Essence that chains damage to nearby enemies or drastically cuts cooldowns, transforming a simple move into an ability capable of wiping out entire rooms. With over 200 combinations available, the path to mastery is entirely personal, ensuring that no two runs are ever the same.

Customizing your identity is crucial to this experience. Every Traveler begins with two defining choices: the Traveler Memory, an active skill, and the Identity Memory, a passive trait. By selecting options for these slots before each run, players adjust the very foundation of their build, moving beyond simply stacking abilities to fundamentally altering the starting point of their journey.

Progression continues as players accumulate Constellations as they explore the Rapids. These constellations are not lost when a run ends; they accumulate, reflecting the depth of a Traveler’s journey. The game introduces The Starless Path, which adds new Stars, weaving a rich narrative into the experience and unlocking hidden episodes and illustrations as Travelers reach greater heights.

The world expands further with new content in the anniversary update. A brand-new Traveler, Cetus, joins the roster as a ranged frost tank, offering a unique way to lock down the battlefield with ice and protect their party. Furthermore, a new feature called Fallen Stars and Faded Memories allows players to swap their Identity Memory for one of six Universal Identity Memories, opening up entirely new progression paths for each Traveler.

For those who prefer cooperative adventure, Shape of Dreams supports four-player co-op, where independent builds collide and interlock on the battlefield. Players are never forced into a fixed role; instead, unique strategies emerge as independent builds work together to find a perfect, synchronized rhythm.

Cross-play is live at launch, uniting PS5 lobbies with PC and other consoles so friends can jump into the dream world together instantly. If you’ve ever wondered if you could risk everything to shape a dream, today is the day to take that leap into the Rapids.
