The world of Pokémon Pokopia just got a whole lot deeper, friend. The game has rolled out Version 2.0.0, bringing a massive update packed with free content, thrilling new mechanics, and plenty of customization options for everyone on the Switch 2.

The biggest splash of this patch is undoubtedly the introduction of underwater adventure. Players can now finally dive into the world for the first time, thanks to the brand-new Dive ability. This feature allows Pokémon like Ditto to take a bubble nap and survive beneath the waves for longer than ever before, opening up completely new possibilities for exploration.

Beyond the aquatic freedom, the update is a treasure trove of aesthetic upgrades. Players can now personalize their characters with five exciting new hair colors—orange, light pink, yellow-green, blue-green, and brown—plus a host of fresh emotes, including Lie Down and Ready, Set, Go! available in areas like Bleak Beach and the Dream Islands.

For those who love building, things have also changed. The Build specialty can now be used to construct houses underwater, adding an entirely new dimension to architectural creativity. Furthermore, players gain new items such as the portal pod and safe, alongside functions that allow bulk movement of items between storage and bags, making inventory management smoother than ever.

The gameplay enhancements are designed to make interactions richer and more dynamic. You can now appraise up to ten relics at once, and actions like painting, gathering honey, and collecting can be performed multiple times within the same interaction. The system has also been polished with improvements that enhance physics—allowing objects to be moved in bulk using moves like Surf on land, and permitting Pokémon companions to follow you while moving via various modes.

For seasoned explorers, access to the Bubbly Basin DLC is now streamlined. By mastering the new Dive move and completing specific quests, players can unlock this expanded area and its secrets, including the addition of Popplio at the Pokémon Center, guiding them to the new underwater gate.

The patch notes are also full of subtle yet important quality-of-life improvements. Whether it’s making item location clearer, allowing for more fluid movement while using the move wheel, or adjusting how Pokémon react to furniture changes, developers have fine-tuned numerous interactions. From reduced conversation indicators that highlight special requests to enhanced methods for searching and relic appraisal, Version 2.0.0 delivers a significantly smoother, more engaging experience.
