Senior game director Ion Hazzikostas articulated this vision, declaring that The Last Titan will serve as the culmination of over two decades of World of Warcraft. While he emphasized that the expansion will not neatly tie up every single storyline, it is clearly set to lay the crucial groundwork for what comes next in Azeroth’s ongoing saga.
Leading up to this grand finale, the narrative continues to unfold with the Midnight era. Before the final act, players will experience the concluding story beat with Midnight: Eclipse, which delves into the ominous presence of the antagonist Xal’atath as she confronts her ultimate objective. This major story beat, also known as patch 12.2, will introduce a standalone game mode, adding another layer of depth to the Midnight era.
Blizzard’s ambition extends beyond the main narrative. Elsewhere during the ceremony, the studio also announced several other significant developments across the game universe. They revealed World of Warcraft: Forever, a new game designed to seamlessly sit alongside both Vanilla and Classic versions of the game, offering players a fresh entry point into Azeroth’s history.
